Gold perfume packaging does not always mean hot foil stamping. For many fragrance brands, a full-bleed metallic gold ink printed on coated paperboard delivers a smooth metal sheen at a fraction of the cost. This article walks through how Shenzhen CKT Print Co., Ltd. prints and builds a champagne gold tuck-end folding carton — from paperboard to ink laydown, lamination, die-cutting and gluing.
The carton starts with 350gsm single-sided coated art paper. The coated side provides a closed, smooth surface that keeps metallic ink on top of the sheet instead of soaking into the fibers — this is what gives the gold its even, mirror-like density.

Raw metallic ink is prone to scuffing and oxidation. A matte PET lamination film is applied over the printed sheet, protecting the gold while keeping a low-glare surface that reads as premium. The matte finish also prevents fingerprints on the final carton.
The laminated sheet is die-cut on a platen press. Precise crease depth keeps the board folding cleanly without cracking the gold ink at the corners. Automatic folder-gluers apply the side seam and fold the blank into a flat tuck-end carton ready for the filling line.
